Joan Dinowitz

Joan Dinowitz, Board Member

Joan worked for 7 years trading bonds and foreign exchange options in London and New York City.  After leaving finance, she took on more creative pursuits as a chef and oriental rug dealer while teaching roller blading on weekends in New York City’s Central Park.  Always a strong advocate for children’s health, she ran the Health and Safety Committee in her child’s elementary school and started the district’s first “walk to school” initiative.  In addition, she was Vice President for Fundraising for the district-wide PTSA and managed the after-school enrichment program.  Joan is now studying to be a Master Composter-Recycler and is spearheading Groundwork’s composting education campaign.  Joan received a B.A. in Economics from Brandeis University.
