Saw Mill Farmer’s Market

In 2010 Groundwork opened the Saw Mill Farmer’s Market, bringing local, affordable produce to Yonkers each week. All of the produce is bought at wholesale prices from sustainable farms in the Westchester Land Trust’s Local Land, Local Food Farmer’s Network and, thanks to a generous grant from the Westchester Community Foundation, we are able to sell the farm-fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs to Yonkers residents at the same low prices we buy them.

The outdoor Market runs during the spring, summer, and fall months. The farms that supply our produce are all within an hour’s drive, so if you come by chances are the fruits and veggies you’ll see were picked just hours before! In the past, offerings have included hot peppers, squash, tomatoes, carrots, apples, peaches, lettuce, collards, onions, garlic, cilantro, and much more.

This year, we hope to expand our selection to include freshly baked bread, jams, and honey. Look for us in the newly daylighted Saw Mill River Park in Larkin Plaza in the spring!
