« Return to album listGreen Team Camping Trip On August 3rd, 4th, and 5th the Green Team took a trip to Fahnestock State Park in upstate NY. The Team camped for two nights in the wilderness camp ground and had a great time learning how to set up a tent, make a fire, and of course roast hot dogs and make smores! On Day 2 the Green Team hiked a mile down the Appalachian Trail carrying tools and water and then worked on clearing a section of the path that was crowded by thorny barberry. We met with National Parks Service staff and volunteers to learn about the trail, and also encountered a few backpackers who were hiking the full trail, from Georgia to Maine. They were grateful that the team made their long journey more enjoyable!
