Place: The Science Barge is floating on the Hudson River at 99 Dock St. Yonkers, NY 10701, just North of the Yonkers Pier. Easily accessible via the Metro North Hudson River Line and visible from the Yonkers station platform.
This year’s theme of The Floating Sculpture Exhibition is in honor of ‘The Summer Solstice of 2012’. We’ve invited artists to be inspired by light and nature to create 2012’s winning Science Barge Floating Sculpture Competition/Exhibition.
Groundwork Hudson Valley invites viewers to come and enjoy floatable art installed in a semi-sheltered section of the river adjacent to our Science Barge.
Visitors can vote for their favorite sculptures. Selected judges will decide on the winners. A restaurant gift certificate will be awarded to the winner.
Free tours of the Science Barge will be offered. The Science Barge is a unique floating greenhouse powered by solar panels and wind turbines, run by Groundwork Hudson Valley.
