Got Issues With Extreme Heat and Flooding? Here’s How One Agency is Tackling Them

Like many cities across the U.S., the city of Yonkers has long been plagued by extreme heat and flooding brought about by climate change. 

To tackle these critical issues, the Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers (MHACY) is partnering with Groundwork Hudson Valley, a local nonprofit, and putting the $2 million it received in grants toward the nonprofit’s Climate Safe Neighborhoods initiative.
