CANCELED Free-A-Tree Invasive Vine Removal (March 2nd, 2019)

Due to inclement weather conditions, we have canceled the vine cutting for this Saturday, March 2nd. Registration to volunteer for our Great Saw Mill River Cleanup on April 13 is now live! WHAT: Join us in combatting a variety of invasive vines along the Old Croton Aqueduct. Help us free the trees that provide shade for recreation and habitat for wildlife. We will provide tools, gloves, and snacks on the day of! No previous experience necessary!

WHEN: Saturday, March 2nd from 10AM-1PM

WHERE: Old Croton Aqueduct Trail in Yonkers by Lamartine Avenue

Find the work site near 70-90 Lamartine Avenue, Yonkers NY 10701

Directions for Vehicles: For those using GPS to find the work site, please use 70-90 Lamartine Avenue, Yonkers NY 10701. You will find sign and volunteers directing participants to the site. Street parking can be found on Lamartine and adjacent streets.

Directions for Public Transit: For those using public transit, participants can take the BeeLine 1C, 1T, 1 Bus toward Warburton Avenue North. Get off on Warburton and Lamartine Avenue Stop. Walk up Lamartine and see signs and volunteers directing you to the work site.

TO BRING: Please bring your own water. Dress in layers, wear good shoes, gloves. Bring your own tools if you can (loppers, clippers, hand saws)–we will have some available for volunteers. We’ll also have hot drinks and snacks.

You will find signage and volunteers directing participants to the site.
