PLASTIC VS. PLANET: The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup 2024 and T-Shirt Design Contest

Groundwork Hudson Valley staff and volunteers at the annual Great Saw Mill River Cleanup in 2023.

Yonkers, NY, 12 February, 2024 – As part of our commitment to environmental stewardship, Groundwork Hudson Valley is thrilled to announce the upcoming annual 2024 Great Saw Mill River Cleanup event in celebration of Earth Day. This year’s event promises to be bigger, bolder, and more impactful than ever before.

The Great Saw Mill River Cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 across Yonkers and along the Saw Mill River watershed, bringing together volunteers, community members, and environmental stewards in choosing our planet over plastic pollution and restore and preserve the beauty of our local waterways.

In addition to our traditional cleanup efforts, we are excited to introduce a new component to this year’s event: a T-shirt Design Contest! We invite Yonkers artists, designers, and creative minds to submit their original designs capturing the spirit of environmentalism, community, and river conservation.

The winning design will be featured on the official event T-shirts, which will be worn by volunteers and participants during the cleanup. Not only will the winning artist receive recognition for their creativity, but they will also play a vital role in promoting environmental awareness within our community. Winners will receive two free tickets to Groundwork Hudson Valley’s annual gala in the fall of 2024.
