Basic Hydroponics and Aquaponics, with Jennifer Sloan

Jennifer Sloan has been the Director of Education and greenhouse manager at the Science Barge for Groundwork Hudson Valley since 2012.  Working in the environmental field since 2004, Jennifer spent 5 years as a naturalist educator at Greenburgh Nature Center and began a love of farming in 2009— first apprenticing with Restoration Farm on Long Island and then with Keith’s Farm in upstate New York.  Under her leadership, Groundwork was recognized for its sustainability education by the Omega Institute in 2014 and received a prestigious grant to teach youth about climate change resiliency on the Science Barge from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in 2015. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bucknell University in Animal Behavior.
